Hiram Walker Imperial Whiskey — 1956 (Russell Aitken)

Russell Aitken (1910-2002) was an American artist/adventurer/trophy-hunter/philanthropist/photographer/social gadfly/perfectionist. And if he actually drank this stuff, it probably WAS a damn fine whiskey.

  1. I am a descendant of Russell Aitken and would be interested in a higher resolution image if one is available to print for my family. Do you happen to have one? Thanks so much!

    • Hi, Caro. What an interesting relative to have! I don’t have a better resolution image — I just came across it online: http://bit.ly/WHnKEt (you might be able to get a slightly larger image there). Is the Hiram Walker company still around? There might be something in their archives. The artist is Richard Deane Taylor — it looks like his son has put up this page: http://www.jtworks.com/Richard/ — you might contact the son here and inquire about prints: http://www.jtworks.com/ (click the “Contact” tab). Good luck!

  2. Thanks for your reply. I was able to find an original print from ’56. Have a great new year!
